Kindly throw light on operations of TrawellTag in India? How strong is TrawellTag’s presence in India? TrawellTag Cover- More is a part of Cover-More Australia, world’s leading dedicated providers of medical assistance and travel insurance. We provide exclusive travel assistance services including luggage tracking, concierge assistance, family protection and customizable travel insurance. We have a strong and balanced presence PAN India. Our headquarters is in Mumbai with branches spanning north, south, west, east and central regions. We are in the growing phase with a current strength of branches at 60.

When did you start your Indian operations? What have been the key achievements of your company in India since its foray in this market?
We set up our Indian operations in the year 2001. Since our setup, we have grown in every aspect. We have introduced new and innovative travel assistance products in the market; our manpower is nearing 500 employees. We are the preferred travel insurance partner for noted travel agents, foreign exchange dealers and TMCs in India. We have been acknowledged in the industry for the quality of our service and have been conferred with prestigious awards such as ‘Best Travel Insurance Provider’, and many more. Our most significant achievement has undoubtedly been our strategic partnership with Cover- More, world’s leading dedicated providers of medical assistance and travel insurance.

What will you describe as USP of your company?
Our strength lies in our focus. We are dedicated to providing quality travel assistance services to the Indian traveller. The ability of tailormade products go beyond simple travel insurance to the new generation traveller who would want to indulge in adventure sports, self-drive on a holiday and sometimes want to have day room hires for mobile offices and this sets us apart in the Indian market, as we offer many one-of kind special features along with travel insurance catering to all types of travellers.

What do you look at the current Indian market for the products / services you offer? What is the level of awareness in the Indian market for the products like yours?
India is an emerging market for travel assistance services. It is services such as online luggage tracking, family protection, concierge services providing real time information and emergency medical assistance are fast gaining importance among the consumers who do not claim after purchasing travel insurance. However, it has been observed that less than 20% people who travel outbound from India buy travel i n - surance due to lack of awareness. But in recent times, we are witnessing a shift in the attitude of people towards buying travel insurance as they are becoming more conscious of the medical expenses overseas and travel emergencies they might face.

How promising and challenging is this market at present? How do you see the potential in future?
India is definitely a promising market. Although travel insurance is still viewed as a ‘com- modity’ in India, this also shall soon change, as is our aim. We are working on the path by introducing customer- centric products and providing exclusive training sessions as ‘Travel Agents Engagement Programme’ to travel agents across India. These sessions empowers the travel agent to upsell as well as educate the consumer on the importance of travel assistance products. With an increasing aspiration to travel among the middle segment customer and higher amount of disposable income making people more willing to travel, there is a tremendous potential for our products in the growing Indian market

What are the new initiatives you have taken recently for the growth of the company in India? What would be your future priorities for Indian market?
We have taken quite a few new initiatives in the recent past and there are some on the platter. Along with our new underwriter, we have introduced an innovative line of products that provides exclusive cruise cover, self-drive protection, adventure sports protection, laptop cover with many more tailormade benefits catering to varied customer strata. After the success of ‘Travel Agents Engagement Programme’ in six cities including Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Vizag, Nagpur and Indore, we plan to take it to the at least 20 more cities in the coming year. We have forayed into the digital medium of marketing with making our presence felt on the social media and also plan to venture into the e-commerce world shortly. Our immediate priority for the Indian market is to shift the mindset of the traveler towards travel assistance services as a ‘must have’ and further improve on the quality of our services for the customer to be naturally attracted and in turn add to the brand ambassadors of our services.

What is your marketing strategy to promote products?
We have ensured through the years to maintain long term strategic partnership with our clients by co-branding our products and services. A strong word of mouth about our services and customer experience has also enhanced our market penetration. We widened our scope of ATL activities to increase consumer awareness. The onset of the digital era has inevitably made us take on to the digital medium in full swing. We intend to make the best use of this medium in the future with deploying e-com facilities.
